Introduction
GST prepaid electricity meter (watt-hour meter) system provides a complete new method for the landlord to collect the electricity fee. With the prepaid system, the electricity fee has to be paid prior using the electricity. The system makes the collection of electricity fee very easy, and there will be no more delay.

Where to use prepaid meter?
The prepaid meter is best suitable for apartment, condominium, dormitory and other rental houses.

How does the system work?
The prepaid meter is a micro processor based meter with a payment card. The resident can buy the electricity from the landlord and charge the amount of money to the payment card.
To use the electricity the resident has to insert a charged the payment card to the meter and remove it from the meter.
The payment then is transferred to meter and the meter will supply the electricity to the room.
When money left in the meter is low, the meter will cut off the power supply to room once. The meter can resume the power supply by insert and remove the payment card to/from the meter.
When the left money in the meter is zero, the meter will cut off again. However this time the meter will not resume the power supply unless the resident purchase the electricity from the landlord, and insert the payment card to the meter again.

What do you need for the prepaid meter system?

Main meter
This meter is installed and approved by the electricity company. It measures the total electricity consumption of the building. The landlord pays the electricity fee to the electricity company according to this meter.

GST prepaid meters
All these meter connect to the main meter. They measure the electricity consumption of the room and read the payment card and control the electricity supply to the room. These meters can be installed in each room, or installed in the load center of the building.

Payment cards
The payment cards are IC card with high security. They are kept by the residents of the rental room. The resident must charge the payment card by paying the money to the landlord, and then insert the card to the meter to transfer the money to the meter. The resident can reading the total payment in the meter, total used amount and left amount in the meter.

Computer, software and encoder
Computer and software is used to manage the payment. The encoder is used to read the payment card and write the data to the payment card.
